Miles J. Allen earned a B.A. Ed. in art. He received a K - 12 art certification from CWU where he received over an additional year of post graduate instruction in education. His art background includes art history as well as multiple art processes such as ceramics, serigraphy, photography, batik, etc. He enjoys drawing and watercolor the most. He substitute taught in the Bellevue and Federal Way school districts before teaching full time for Liberty Christian School in College Place, WA. Miles' current profession is a carpenter for Union Local 770. He has been married twenty nine years to his wife Karen. They have been members of the Yakima CMA church for over twenty years. They have two sons. His older son is a war veteran that served in Iraq. His younger son is a cadet at the USMA at West Point. Miles will be offering a drawing/watercolor class. The purpose of the class is to encourage the use of a full range of values in both drawing and painting in order to depict shapes and forms with greater visual impact and spatial tension.
